Based on client's request, the proposed design for this kitchen seeks to bring a premium look to the aesthetics of the space.

While the existing functionality works, and the layout and most of the appliances are not to be changed, the wall opening will be

increased in size to maximise the open space feel and the interaction between kitchen and living space, as well as to allow more natural

light in. The columns supporting the roof will not be affected by this change.

The selected colour scheme is to bring the kitchen to life by giving it a modern style and contrast. The glossy dark blue cabinets are to

reflect the light instead of absorbing it. That will provide a sense of spaciousness without knocking down existing walls. In addition to that, the cabinets are to harmonise with the white quartz bench top and splash back tiles.

Most of the cabinets with doors will be replaced by units with drawers as requested. That will give the clients and future new buyers

more efficiency when storing kitchen utensils, appliances and such.

The handle-less cabinet doors and drawers will add to the modern overall style of the kitchen. They will still be accessible by having a

touch-to-open mechanical opening system that provides an effortless soft-close.

The clearance between both fixed benches is 1100mm, meaning this kitchen is a Silver level space under the Livable Housing Design

Guidelines.
